I only just saw this on Nowness and fell in love with it. Anything that can transport you even for a little while is magic.

Photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin captured scenes of Kate Moss while shooting the Balmain FW 2010/11 campaign and created their own short film, titled Everglade (also the name of the soundtrack by Antony and the Johnsons).

The Dutch duo spoke to Nowness.com and said, "Surrealism is always there in our work, whether it’s in camera or through computer manipulation... (it's) half horror and half Disney.” To help create this fantasy world, they collaborated with artist Jo Ratcliffe who designed the animated illustrations.

“Joshua Tree was hectic. After an hour-long National Park tour by a redneck ranger, we settled in to 41 degree heat, and banged out 9 shots in 3 hours until the low-light kept us from shooting any more. I really loved being there in an unreal location. It was like, you could spin 360 degrees and everywhere you looked was another brilliant frame to shoot. I wanted to do more. I also loved it because I’m a magpie and love sparkles in shoots. Nick Hudson shot that one.”

"Modern Goddess was SO much fun, working with the gorgeous Carlotta Moye and to re-create the images of iconic women. Its such a challenge to find the right clothes that sing the song of the picture. “Tribal was shot by Kane Skennar around three years ago. It was a super fun shoot day, I just remember the mood boards all over the studio, and hair pieces and feathers lying everywhere. We played The Prodigy on high-rotate to get us in the mood until it gave the crew headaches. But it was just a fun day!”

Unveiling her eight illustrations of Australian designers' winter collections, Garance Doré spoke at Westfield yesterday about blogging, why bloggers are such hot property, sitting front row at fashion week and her time in Sydney, amongst other things - and I found out that yes, she does read the comments you write on her blog!

Patty Huntington from Frockwriter did a fantastic job interviewing the charming illustrator/blogger/photographer. Here are some of the things Garance had to say..

"I started my blog to be free and to express what I wanted to".

When questioned about the rollercoaster ride she has been on of late, Garance humbly responded, "It's a dream, really a dream to do what I do".

When speaking about her blog: "If I don't put it on my blog, not so many people respond. I don't look at my statistics, I look at my comments.. it's a story we all live together. Blogging is addictive, intoxicating".

Her advice?.. "You need a real point of view to be seen as there are so many big players out there".

And lastly, Garance said, "I want to stay more!" when asked about her stay in Sydney - So great to know that Garance and her boyfriend Scott Schuman of the Sartorialist, who attended in support both love our land down under so much.. In a conversation with him, Scott mentioned; 'how could you not love Sydney when its winter and the weather is like this' as the sun streamed through the windows just so..

This weekend I fell in love with Aero. It started off a love/hate relationship - the very first thing I noticed was an unasuming teatowel holder (see the bottom left image) excuse the pun.. but then found myself intrigued by the quirky homewares and simple yet effective colour scheme... and the happy new owner of opaque black balloon wine glasses and tumblers. Oh happy day!..
